2 Metre Plaster-In Shadow Gap LED Aluminium Profile – Trimless Architectural Lighting

Professional Shadow Gap LED Aluminium Profile – White Finish with Opal Diffuser

Product Overview

The Plaster-In Shadow Gap LED Aluminium Profile is designed for creating concealed, indirect lighting within plastered walls, ceilings and architectural edge details. Its recessed construction forms a defined shadow line between adjoining surfaces, producing a clean, contemporary finish with the option of integrated LED illumination.

Unlike conventional surface-mounted LED channels, this trimless profile is incorporated into the surrounding plasterwork, leaving a discreet shadow gap that enhances architectural features without exposed lighting fittings.

Manufactured from durable aluminium with a white finish, the profile provides effective heat dissipation for LED strips while maintaining a neat, integrated appearance. It accommodates LED strips up to 13mm wide, making it suitable for a range of single-colour, CCT and RGB/RGBW lighting applications.

The supplied opal diffuser helps distribute light evenly, reducing glare and the visibility of individual LED points. For the smoothest lighting effect, high-density or COB dotless LED strips are recommended.

Suitable for professional residential and commercial installations, including ceiling perimeters, feature walls, kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke architectural lighting projects.

  • COB / Dotless LED Strips: Recommended for smooth, continuous illumination with minimal visible LED spotting.

  • CCT LED Strips: Allow adjustable white colour temperatures when paired with a compatible controller.

  • RGB / RGBW LED Strips: Suitable for decorative colour-changing lighting with the appropriate control system.

Installation Guidance

Profile Installation

Install the profile during the wall or ceiling preparation stage, before final plastering and decoration. Ensure it is securely fixed, correctly aligned and adequately supported. Protect the diffuser channel from plaster, dust and paint during finishing.

LED Strip and Driver Selection

Select a compatible LED strip and matching constant voltage driver, typically 12V or 24V DC. Calculate the total wattage and allow suitable driver capacity.

For longer runs, consider voltage drop and the manufacturer's maximum permitted strip length. Additional power feeds or connections at both ends may be required to maintain consistent illumination.

Finishing and Maintenance

Ensure the LED mounting surface is clean and dry before fitting the strip. Position drivers and controllers in accessible locations for future maintenance.

For bathrooms and moisture-prone environments, use appropriately IP-rated LED strips, connections and electrical components.

Suitable Applications

  • Ceiling Perimeters: Concealed indirect lighting around ceiling edges and junctions.

  • Feature Walls: Subtle architectural lighting for decorative and textured surfaces.

  • Kitchens: Integrated lighting around cabinetry and contemporary interior details.

  • Bathrooms: Recessed lighting details with appropriately rated electrical components.

  • Tiled Edges: Clean transitions between tiled and adjoining surfaces.

  • Commercial Interiors: Architectural lighting for offices, retail spaces, reception areas and hospitality projects.
